Today, Mrs.McMillan and Mrs.Moyer used the SPIAA high school track times and distances for some real-life comparing numbers. Montezuma 5th grade students were given several track events and had to compare, then put the times/distances in order from the longest distance to the shortest and the fastest time to the slowest. The students had fun seeing the Rebel times and distances and they also had fun trying to guess which Bucklin kids are related to Mrs. Moyer.
Copeland and Montezuma 5th graders attended JH Orientation day today led by JH Leadership students. 5th graders were able to move from each class and participate in activities to introduce them to the building as 6th graders next year! We look forward to having them in the building next year!!!!

Montezuma 4th graders traveled to Dodge City today to visit Southwest Livestock Ag. We want to thank Adam and Kim Lowery for hosting one of the best field trips. When we first started this field trip, 4 years ago, I told Adam and Kim to focus on what math they use in their business. Every year, the students find out there is a lot of math used from weighing cattle to buying and selling the cattle and everything in between. After the learning part of the field trip, the 4th graders found out what they could buy for five dollars at McDonalds then went to Wright Park for some play time. A huge thank you to Sharris Koehn for taking us to Dodge City and administration for allowing us to go.
